Schuebeler DS-94-DIA HST

Product PictureThe brand new Schuebeler DS-94-HST 128mm High Static Thrust EDF system in plug’n play configuration.
The complete Fan system comes ready assembled with integrated motor and installed fan fix, cables fully installed and YGA 160 HV ESC pre-programmed and cabled to suite the Fan system.
With the DS-94-DIA HST Schuebeler Composite launches a completely new jet propulsion system. The system is based on a new 12-blade axial compressor wheel which is driven by the all new Schuebeler electronic commutated motor.
The 128 mm axial compressor generates a surpassing compression ratio and can therefore be integrated much more efficiently in huge jet models than classic ducted fans. The rotational speed level is only 26.500 rpm at an impressive exhaust speed of 95 m/s and a thrust of 10 kg. This high thrust impulse is therefore generated by a high exhaust speed and a high inner efficiency of the axial fan stage. In figures that means you can integrate this fan in jets up to 11 kg and an exhaust diameter of just 105 mm. The design of the 12-blade axial compressor wheel is based on speed ratios which are similar to the ratios of a full scale turbofan. That results besides a high efficiency in a perfect optical scale appearance and a sound which can only be compared to full scale jet engines. A silent whispering and fizzling of the axial compressor at idle rpm is predominated by an impressive jetstream noise coming from the exhaust at full throttle.

Schuebeler DS-77-DIA HST

Product PictureBased on the design of the DS-94-HST, the new Schuebeler DS-77-HST is a a 120mm EDF unit with high static thrust.
An extraordinary challenge was the development of an electronic commuted DC motor that perfectly fits to the axial fan.
Taking the larger DS-94-HST as an example: The 12-blade compressor demands an impressive torque of 2,2 Nm at 26.500 rpm which can only be generated by a high torque motor of high diameter and shorter length. Consequently the new DSM 6740 Schuebeler motor has a diameter of 67 mm and a magnet length of 40 mm. This motor is fully integrated in the axialfan to assign a huge area for the main airflow. In addition to that the motor is perfectly.
Cooled and needs no efficiency decreasing internal ventilator. The motor is based on a two pole design to allow a flexible fit of the motor characteristics to the needs of the axial fan. Nevertheless the windings sit in a 12 slot stator to increase the torque and to avoid any winding deformation at high temperatures. The magnet is attached to a sheeted magnet holder and reinforced by a bandage made of IMS carbon fibre which allows a high rpm tolerance. The whole motor design was optimized in respect of excessive heat tolerance and of course a high efficiency even at high currents. The mechanical design of the Schuebeler DSM 6740 motor is based on established mechanical engineering and distinguishes itself by a shaft mount consisting of a fixed bearing and a pre-stressed floating bearing. Front- and endbell are fixed by 8 countersunk head screws, all surfaces are protected by hard anodizing. The result is a very high durability in combination with a low mechanical soundscape which allows the whispering of the axial fan to predominate even at idle rpm.
The conjunction between motor and axial fan is made by 4 handmade carbon stators which also guide the 3 motor phases through the UHM carbon sandwich shroud. The conversion of shaftpower to streampower is accomplished by 12 handmade carbon rotor blades which sit form-closed in precision aluminum swivels.

Schuebeler In-Fuse Intake Ring

Product PictureThe Schuebeler In-Fuse intake ring for both the DS-77-HST and DS-94-HST allows the easy installation of the HST fan system in fuses without EDF intake ducting. The large intake lip allows the fan to draw air from the standard turbine ducting without the need for a fully molded intake to fit the fan unit.

Preview: JTM L-39

Jet Teng is working with high pressure on their latest full composite EDF jet for 90mm Fan units.

JetTeng L-39 Albatros Breitling

The L-39 Albatross will have the following dimensions:

  • Length:       1380mm
  • Wing Span: 1075mm

Like the JTM Hawk, the L-39 will come pre-painted (final color schemes will be announced soon) and retract ready.

We will post updates of the new model as soon as they become available.

For the time being, a short video of the L-39’s first ever flight by the JTM factory pilot.

Some info on the full size plane:
The Aero L-39 Albatros is a high-performance jet trainer aircraft developed in Czechoslovakia to meet requirements for a “C-39″ (C for cvičný – trainer) during the 1960s to replace the L-29 Delfín. It was the first of the second-generation jet trainers, and the first turbofan-powered trainer produced, and was later updated as the L-59 Super Albatros and as the L-139 (prototype L-39 with engine Garrett TFE731). The design is still produced in an evolved state as the L-159 ALCA, while more than 2,800 L-39s still serve with over 30 air forces around the world. The Albatros – the most widely used jet trainer in the world – is versatile, seeing duty in light-attack missions as well as in basic and advanced pilot training.

BAE Hawk – RAF Black

Jet Teng Hawk by RC-Warbirds Our own JTM BAE Hawk in the colors of the RAF Squadron No100.
This full composite model was designed for 90mm Fan units and 6-10S Lipo Power.

Our Hawk features:
- Schuebeler DS-51 Fan
- Lehner 1940-12HA
- Hyperion 90 ESC
- Hyperion G3 4200 8S 35C Lipo packs
- JTM Retracts
- JTM Oleos with Wheels

Building the Hawk was a joy. All components have a superb fit and the high prefabrication of this model basically means you only need to fix your servos, fan and radio and you are ready to go.
The total weight ready to fly is 3.8kg. With the power supplied of by the DS-51/Lehner combination the plane performs beautifully in the air.

JTM Hawk retract position

This is a picture of the retract position of our model. As the CG is at 115mm from the forward wing mount, the retracts could be installed a little bit further forward, making it easier to hide them fully in the wing.

Some info on the design of the full size plane:
The Hawk is a tandem two-seat aircraft and has a low-mounted cantilever monoplane wing and is powered by a non-augmented turbofan engine. The low-positioned one-piece wing was designed to allow a wide landing gear track and to enable easier maintenance access. The wing is fitted with wide-span, double-slotted, trailing-edge flaps for low-speed performance. Integral to the wing is 836 litre (184 imp gal) fuel tank and room for the retractable main landing gear legs. Designed to take a +8/-4 g load, the original requirement was for two stores hardpoints but it was designed to fit four hardpoints by Hawker Siddeley.

Jet Teng Hawk in flight The fuselage design was led by the need to get a height differential between the two tandem cockpits, this enabled increased visibility for the instructor in the rear seat. Each cockpit is fitted with a Martin-Baker Mk 10B zero-zero rocket assisted ejection seat. The centre fuselage has an 823 litre (181 Imp Gal) flexible fuel tank. The two-shaft turbofan Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Adour engine is fitted in the rear-fuselage with inlets on each side above the forward wing roots. A ram air turbine is fitted just in front of the single fin as well as a gas turbine auxiliary power unit above the engine. The forward retracting nose landing gear leg is fitted in the nose.

The air brake, located under the rear fuselage.

Performance

The Hawk was designed to be maneuverable and can reach Mach 0.88 in level flight, and Mach 1.15 in a dive, thus allowing trainees to experience transonic flight before advancing to a supersonic trainer.sIts airframe is very durable and strong, stressed for +9 g, but the normal service limit in RAF service is +7.5/-4 g.
