Radio Control Scale 2010
On the weekend from 16th to 17th October 2010 the Potong Pasir Flying Club in Singapore hosted the 2nd Singapore Radio Control Scale 2010 event.
As with the first such event held in Singapore in 2009, the club did a great job in organizing and hosting the show.![]()
The competition featured around 24 local and overseas RC Scale planes of all types.
With participants traveling to Singapore all the way from Thailand, RCS might have the potential to grow in to a regional event in the future.
The event was split into 2 days and, unlike in 2009, 2 separate locations.
Briefing of all participants as well as static judging of all categories was held on Saturday 16th October from noon till late at the Potong Pasic Community Center in the heart of Singapore.
The large static display of all models in an easy accessible area gave the public plenty of possibilities to view the models up-close and discuss aspects of scale modeling and RC flight in general.
In a separate area, participants and spectators could take a look at the latest products and offerings of various local RC Model Shops and Vendors who displayed their goods and answered many questions.
For the second day, all participants traveled out to the PPFC Flying Field in the west of Singapore for a full day of flight judging.
Although the weather threatened the event on Sunday, with strong rain showers and thunderstorms in the early morning, all participants could take to the air before lunch time when the weather cleared.
With the exception of a few models, all pilots managed to conduct a total of 3 judging flights.
