The 2 pictures show close ups of the L-39 cockpit area.
The factory pilot fabricated a simple custom cockpit for the plane. This cockpit will NOT be included in the production models as of now. But we are confident that a cockpit kit for the L-39 will be released in the near future once the demand for such an accessory becomes apparent to JTM.

Stay tuned for more updates. In the meantime enjoy the videos of the brake tests and the custom installed lighting kit

The new 100mm and 90mm Fans by Stumax are in the final stages of development.

Here is a short preview by Stu:

Stumax is currently finalizing the development of two new fans, designated SM100-45 and SM90-45, being 100mm dia and 90mm dia with 45mm hub dia. As there is a demand for a good sounding 90mm fan for a while now, Stu originally tried trimming down an SM110-52 to end up with a 90mm fan unit. However it became quickly apparent that this approach resulted in a too heavy fan unit. At the end Stu designed the SM100 around a SM110-45 motor tube, utilizing the same strator design but with shorter blades to end up with a 100mm fan unit. The goal for the 100mm fan was 5kW using a Neu 15 series motor. Testing shows that the power vs rpm calcs were pretty close, and a 1521-1.5Y on 12S seems to be a good choice, needs a lot of flight testing to confirm, of course. For the SM90-45 it looks like a 1515-2Y will be a good choice on 12S for 3kW, or perhaps a 1515-1.5Y on 8S – again, this needs to be thoroughly tested before these figures are put in stone.

The rotors are 11 bladed, with the blades being individually injection moulded from long glass filled Nylon. the blades are assembled onto front and rear rings which lock them all together. Once the rotor is assembled, it is attached to a shaft adapter which then mounts to a dummy shaft in the lathe, then the front face is machined flat and the bore at the front is machined out to accept the aluminium ring which forms the locating face for the spinner. A lot of work and fiddling, but this ensure the spinner runs 100% true. As assembled, the rotors are close to being perfectly balanced, and I’ve actually run them without further balancing. Production rotors will be dynamically balanced.
Thrust-wise, the SM100-45 is matching the 110mm fans up to 3.8kW then it tails off a bit as expected. On 3.8kW it delivers 6.0kg thrust. The static efficiency is up around 92-94%, which is staggering, really, and the reason it’s performing close to a fan with much more FSA. The SM90-45 is giving just over 10lb static thrust with just under 3kW, which is still pretty good considering it’s a cut down rotor and loses the aerodynamic tricks that have been used at the blade tips. The FSA for the SM100-45 is 6264sqmm and 4771sqmm for the SM90-45.

The SM90 is basically the SM100-45 rotor trimmed down to 90mm, using the same motor tube and a 90mm dia shroud. Also new are the shrouds of both the SM100 and SM90 which are carbon/Rohacell sandwich construction at this point.
Sound-wise, the SM100-45 is quieter than the SM110-52 but the sound isn’t as interesting, simply because the SM110-52 was designed to have certain pleasing harmonics, and the SM100-45 was designed to be super efficient (hence its quietness).

Release date: Well, Stu is not promising a release date but he hopes to have the first batches done within one month. As with all Stumax products the fans will only be released once they are 100% right.

JTM Hawks – V2

We are happy to announce the arrival of the first Version 2 JTM Hawks. The new updated version now comes with changed retract positions, ducting suitable for 90mm fan units and improved elevator linkage.
This model is a hot seller and usually sold as soon as it arrives as JTM has not yet fully ramped up the production of the kit. We therefore accept pre-orders of the model on a first come first serve basis. Drop us an email for more details and up to date availability on this great model.

Schuebeler DS-94-DIA HST

The brand new Schuebeler DS-94-HST 128mm High Static Thrust EDF system in plug’n play configuration.
The complete Fan system comes ready assembled with integrated motor and installed fan fix, cables fully installed and YGA 160 HV ESC pre-programmed and cabled to suite the Fan system.
With the DS-94-DIA HST Schuebeler Composite launches a completely new jet propulsion system. The system is based on a new 12-blade axial compressor wheel which is driven by the all new Schuebeler electronic commutated motor.
The 128 mm axial compressor generates a surpassing compression ratio and can therefore be integrated much more efficiently in huge jet models than classic ducted fans. The rotational speed level is only 26.500 rpm at an impressive exhaust speed of 95 m/s and a thrust of 10 kg. This high thrust impulse is therefore generated by a high exhaust speed and a high inner efficiency of the axial fan stage. In figures that means you can integrate this fan in jets up to 11 kg and an exhaust diameter of just 105 mm. The design of the 12-blade axial compressor wheel is based on speed ratios which are similar to the ratios of a full scale turbofan. That results besides a high efficiency in a perfect optical scale appearance and a sound which can only be compared to full scale jet engines. A silent whispering and fizzling of the axial compressor at idle rpm is predominated by an impressive jetstream noise coming from the exhaust at full throttle.
Please click on the picture above for more info…..

Schuebeler DS-77-DIA HST

Based on the design of the DS-94-HST, the new Schuebeler DS-77-HST is a a 120mm EDF unit with high static thrust.
An extraordinary challenge was the development of an electronic commuted DC motor that perfectly fits to the axial fan.
Taking the larger DS-94-HST as an example: The 12-blade compressor demands an impressive torque of 2,2 Nm at 26.500 rpm which can only be generated by a high torque motor of high diameter and shorter length. Consequently the new DSM 6740 Schuebeler motor has a diameter of 67 mm and a magnet length of 40 mm. This motor is fully integrated in the axialfan to assign a huge area for the main airflow. In addition to that the motor is perfectly.
Cooled and needs no efficiency decreasing internal ventilator. The motor is based on a two pole design to allow a flexible fit of the motor characteristics to the needs of the axial fan. Nevertheless the windings sit in a 12 slot stator to increase the torque and to avoid any winding deformation at high temperatures. The magnet is attached to a sheeted magnet holder and reinforced by a bandage made of IMS carbon fibre which allows a high rpm tolerance. The whole motor design was optimized in respect of excessive heat tolerance and of course a high efficiency even at high currents. The mechanical design of the Schuebeler DSM 6740 motor is based on established mechanical engineering and distinguishes itself by a shaft mount consisting of a fixed bearing and a pre-stressed floating bearing. Front- and endbell are fixed by 8 countersunk head screws, all surfaces are protected by hard anodizing. The result is a very high durability in combination with a low mechanical soundscape which allows the whispering of the axial fan to predominate even at idle rpm.
The conjunction between motor and axial fan is made by 4 handmade carbon stators which also guide the 3 motor phases through the UHM carbon sandwich shroud. The conversion of shaftpower to streampower is accomplished by 12 handmade carbon rotor blades which sit form-closed in precision aluminum swivels.

Schuebeler In-Fuse Intake Ring

The Schuebeler In-Fuse intake ring for both the DS-77-HST and DS-94-HST allows the easy installation of the HST fan system in fuses without EDF intake ducting. The large intake lip allows the fan to draw air from the standard turbine ducting without the need for a fully molded intake to fit the fan unit.

New selection of NeuMotors

Just in: a new selection of the popular NeuMotors 15xx series for 90mm EDF units.
Currently available models include:
- 1512 2.5D for 5-6S LiPo
- 1512 3D for 6-8S LiPo
- 1512 2Y for 8-10S LiPo
- 1515 3D for 10-12S LiPo
Make sure to visit our webpage frequently for more NeuMotors arrivals (next to arrive are 14xx series motors)
